Upcoming Events: Get Your Sticker, then Attend!


Reminder - motorcycle inspection stickers deadline is Sunday, May 31. Being stopped with an invalid, current sticker carries a $50 fine, is a surchargable offense increasing your insurance rates, and the vehicle is subject to tow.

There are less than 225 motorcycle inspection shops in Massachusetts, for over 180,000 registered motorcycles. Most are not open on Sundays, and/or close early on Saturday. To locate an inspection site near you - see this site, put in your town or zip code, click motorcycles, and search. Update on the 10th Annual "Nelson's Ride" - . . . Stage Fort Park is the likely site of the 10th Annual "Nelson's Ride." The Agreement has been signed with the MMSF and the DPW of Gloucester, for Sunday, August 23 (and 8/30 as its rain date). We have additional meetings with other City departments the week of June 8 to finalize details. The Ride Route is being sent to local Police Chiefs for their review and recommendations.

Upcoming Events

Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Rally, Washington, DC - Sunday, May 24.

Several MMSF members and supporters are heading down to this Event, via Gettysburg, Tom Jefferson's and James Madison houses in VA, some lobbying in DC, and supporting Veteran's and other citizen's concerned about our Missing in Action and Prisoner of War military service people, still unaccounted for.

If you can't make this Rally, . . . on Memorial Day, consider saying a prayer for those MIA's and POW's, and their families, and give a 'thank you salute' to all veterans for their service.

Update on the 10th Annual Nelson's Ride . . . An Agreement has been signed with the MMSF and the DPW of Gloucester, for use of the Stage Fort Park on Route 127 as the host site for the 10th Annual "Nelson's Ride," for Sunday, August 23 (and 8/30 as its rain date). Some other City departments need to 'sign off' on it but its looking good.

Frank Perron of Ipswich and Lee Blais of Danvers have used their combined talents, winning our logo design contest, and finishing touches are being put on that design and will be released soon. Great Turnout Last Weekend - See you On Mother's Day!

Thanks to the more than 200 riders and friends who attended last week's Aces and Eights RC "Eddy Hopkins Memorial Ride" in Essex. Your support was awesome !

Saturday night, May 9th - pre-Mother's Day Dinner, honoring long time rider and pioneer, Peg Blais, 83, of Danvers.

Peg has recovered from her October 2008 accident and your donations helped with some of her uncovered medical expenses. Bring your mother or partner, beat the Sunday crowds. Casual dress, leather expected ! $40 a person includes snacks, full dinner, a rose for your special lady, some "roasting" by the Mama's, live band and dancing in the Barn at the Village Green, on Route 1, Danvers, MA . . Thanks for last weekend...see you THIS weekend! (Upcoming Events)

TONS of thanks to the more than 300 riders and friends who came out last weekend for "Bill's Ride" at the Gateway in Lawrence and "Nick's Ride" at the Moose in Marlboro.

The families of Bill Leach and Nick Butler were overwhelmed with our riding community's support honoring them. "Riders helping Riders."
